It came to Pokhara by the migration of Bhaktapur residents. It is conducted every 12 years in Bhaktapur, but these days it is done every 6 years in the Pokhara Valley to preserve its cultural value. With the huge number of Newari people living in the mid part of the Pokhara valley, they do practice this holy dance containing 12 deities and perform it every 6 years. To conserve this dance and the value to the future generation the Newari people practice this dance every year and also promote this cultural dance. Although it is performed by Newars, this dance is precious to every Pokherali people.
