Gupteshwor Cave

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave (Nepali गुप्तेश्वर महादेव गुफा) is a cave situated in Pokhara-17, Chhorepatan, in the Kaski district, directly opposite Davis Fall. The water from Davis Fall flows through this cave, making it one of the main attractions in Pokhara. The cave is believed to have been discovered in the 16th century, although the main entrance wasn’t constructed until 1991.

Inside, the cave has two chambers and several shrines, with the largest one dedicated to Shiva. The cave is equipped with lighting and a power backup, but it’s still advisable to bring your own headlamp for better visibility. You’ll hear the waterfall ahead when you walk further. Be aware that the section is often closed during the monsoon season. Be cautious, as the staircase and ground can be quite slippery. After descending the stairs, you’ll need to navigate across some uneven, rocky terrain until you reach a spot with a clear view of the waterfall.
